A Day in Harvey With the Ignite Marketing Team
This past weekend, Julia and I, both from the marketing team at Ignite, decided to take a little adventure to the Harvey area, and it was such a great way to spend a Saturday! We kicked off our day with a visit to Kings Landing for their First Taste of Spring event, and it couldn’t have been a better start to our day.
Kings Landing Entrance
We began with a peaceful horse and wagon ride through the stunning landscape of Kings Landing. The views were incredible, and it felt so special to be able to relax and take it all in while hearing the fascinating stories of Kings Landing’s history from our guide. It really gave us a deeper appreciation for the area and made the experience that much more memorable.

After our ride, we took some time to wander around the historic homes on the property. It was like stepping back in time! From the rustic kitchens to the handmade furniture, it was so interesting to see how people lived in the past. There’s something calming about the slower pace of life back then, and it really made us appreciate the history that surrounds us in such a hands-on way.
The Hagerman House
Of course, no trip to Kings Landing would be complete without indulging in a little something sweet! We treated ourselves to maple snow candy, which was absolutely delicious. If you’ve never tried it, it’s fresh maple syrup poured over snow and it’s every bit as good as it sounds. We were so hooked that we wandered into the gift shop afterward and picked up some maple syrup and fudge to take home. It was a perfect souvenir and a tasty reminder of our visit.

After all that walking and indulging in sugary treats, we were definitely ready for lunch. We stopped at Denny’s, a locally owned gem inside Fen’s Market. The food was amazing—comforting and homemade, exactly what we needed after a busy morning of exploring. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and it felt great to support a locally owned business. We couldn’t have asked for a better spot to recharge.

Our day in Harvey was a wonderful mix of history, nature, and local flavors, and it was a great reminder of how lucky we are to live in a place with so many hidden gems. We left feeling refreshed and already talking about when we could go back for another adventure!
If you’re ever in the area, we highly recommend checking out Kings Landing, Fen’s Market, and Denny’s—you won’t regret it! And stay tuned—we’ve got more exciting local adventures coming your way soon!
