Steady Gains in Full-Time Jobs: March 2025 Labour Snapshot
Written by Farnaz Ghorbani
New Brunswick’s labour market remained stable in March, with steady year-over-year growth among individuals aged 15 and over. The labour force reached 431,500, up 1.1% from March 2024. Employment rose by 8,600 over the year to 401,600, reflecting a 2.2% increase.
Full-time positions continued to drive this growth, adding 12,800 jobs compared to last year, while part-time employment declined by 4,200. This shift points to improving job quality and a gradual move toward more permanent roles.
Overall, the data suggests a healthy labour market, supported by population growth and stronger employer demand. While part-time job numbers dipped, the continued rise in full-time employment is a positive signal heading into the spring.
