A Day in Town of Oromocto with the Ignite Marketing Team
Welcome to the Town of Oromocto—that’s the warm greeting you’ll receive when you arrive in this amazing community.
This past Friday, my colleague Julia and I set out for a wonderful day, discovering local gems, connecting with animals in need, and exploring the scenic waterfront.
Our day began at Pet Valu Oromocto, where we found incredible deals to bring joy to dogs and cats. Later, we visited the Oromocto & Area SPCA, where we were welcomed by an amazing team of staff and volunteers. They reminded us how valuable time can be when it’s spent bringing comfort to our little companions. On behalf of the Ignite Team, we left a few donations to support their work.
While there, we met Tom, a beautiful gray cat looking for his “furever” home, as well as Charlotte and a friendly new black cat who had just arrived. We also stopped by the kennels to say hello to beautiful dogs—each one patiently waiting for a second chance at a happy, loving home.
Next, we headed to Sour Grape Café to get recharged. If you’re looking for a cozy, welcoming space to enjoy coffee and sweets, this is the perfect spot; perfect for a sweet tooth.
What a splendid day to walk Sir Douglas Hazen Park, part of the historic riverfront and named after the distinguished Canadian politician and judge. This beautiful riverside park offers a variety of recreational activities, including scenic views, picnic and family areas, and walking and biking trails. As the weather warms into spring and summer, visitors can also enjoy boating and water activities. It’s an ideal destination for family gatherings.

Lunch brought us to Jane’s Seven Burgers, where we were treated to an exceptional dining experience. From the fresh, flavorful food to the friendly staff and fast service, everything exceeded expectations. Fun fact: Jane’s Seven Burgers was featured in The 50 Best Burgers in Canada (2020). If you’re looking for delicious, homemade food in a welcoming atmosphere, this spot is a must-visit.
To wrap up our day, we visited The Fairway by Good Guys Golf, a new indoor golf simulator and bar. We were greeted by owners Robert Johnson and Ben Black, who have created a one-of-a-kind entertainment space and are celebrating its first year in business at this location. Whether you’re looking to practice your swing, enjoy a drink, or socialize with friends, this venue offers a great experience for all.
